The Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program is a powerful way for individuals and businesses to positively impact lives by making K-12 education accessible to deserving students who otherwise could not afford it.
By contributing to GOAL, Georgia taxpayers receive a 100% state income tax credit while directly supporting tuition assistance for exceptional students desiring to attend eligible private schools like Sisu.
The program’s popularity speaks volumes about its impact: the $120 million statewide cap is reached on the very first business day each year, resulting in proration. In 2025, for example, applicants were approved for just 53% of their requested credit amount due to overwhelming demand.
Even with proration, taxpayers still receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for the full amount they contribute to GOAL—making this a cost-free way to support their school community and provide life-changing opportunities for students.
We are now accepting nominations for the 2024 Nancy Copper Spark Award! 🌟
Nominees for the Nancy Copper Spark Award should embody a fun, enthusiastic attitude that inspires others, bringing joy and positivity to their work while fostering a sense of community and collaboration. Inner determination, or “Sisu,” is a vital quality, and nominees should exhibit resilience and grit in overcoming challenges, showcasing a strong sense of perseverance in achieving their goals. The impact on the community is another important criterion; nominees should make a measurable positive difference through their efforts and serve as role models who encourage participation and service among others. A collaborative spirit is essential as well, with nominees working well with others to foster teamwork and cooperation while supporting fellow volunteers and creating a welcoming environment. Nominations can be submitted by peers, community members, or organizational leaders, with each nomination including specific examples that demonstrate how the nominee meets the outlined criteria. Recipients will be celebrated at the annual Seasons of Sisu event, receiving a personalized award and the opportunity to share their story and impact with the community.
📧 Send all nominations to Blythe at bhammons@mysisu.org. Let’s continue the legacy of service, creativity, and determination within our community! ✨
