Nursing
At Sisu our nursing services are integrated into the school day to allow for minimal interruption of education and limit the amount of travel parents must do to meet their children’s health needs. Our nurses monitor the health needs and concerns of all enrolled children including parent consultations, training, and coordinating with other health care providers.
Children enrolled in the Early Intervention Treatment Program may receive specified and/or prescribed clinical nursing treatments.
Nursing services include, but are not limited to the following:
- Response to minor illness and injury
- Medication dispensation
- Seizure monitoring, response, and medication dispensation
- Tube feedings
- Breathing treatments
- Blood sugar monitoring
- Catheterization
- Tracheotomy care
- Cardiac monitoring
- Oxygen monitoring
Sisu serves as an approved clinical setting for multiple universities, colleges, and technical schools.
